Here at iMend we are lucky to have the best technicians working for us to ensure that we always provide the best service for our customers. It’s not just us that deems them the best, it’s our customers too! Our technicians have been praised again and again on our TrustPilot page.
We thought we would introduce you to some of our technicians by doing “iTech of the Month” features so you can get to know them a little more and see where their passion for excellence stems from.
This month we have Matthew, he’s been working as a mobile phone technician since 2011, but what brought him to iMend was the possibility of meeting a diverse array of customers from all walks of life and that’s exactly what he got!
What Brought You To iMend?
Matthews story, I love iMend for the fact that they are a fantastic new company who have brought a brand new take on how phones are repaired. Everyone has been very welcoming and it’s been a pleasure to see so many delighted customers. Being able to fix someones phone whilst they wait is fantastic for people.
What Are the Worst Repairs You Get?
I have been a technician for a while and I get to see all sorts of repairs that come in to me, but the worst ones I get are the water damaged ones! Not only are a lot of them doomed because they are so damaged but a LOT of them have been dropped down the toilet! Time to get the rubber gloves out for those jobs!
What Phones Do You Fix the Most?
I think the phones that I repair the most are iPhones, mainly because they are the ones that are glass backs and fronts and so slippy!
What’s the Strangest Repair You’ve Ever Done?
As I’ve said, I’ve been a mobile repair technician for a while now and travel to customers places of business and their homes to get their handsets repaired on the spot. As you can imagine, I’ve seen a lot of different sights but I think the weirdest one was receiving a job in the city centre of Manchester, it so happened to be a gentlemen’s massage parlour.
I arrived at the building went upstairs, knocked on the door and was let into the reception to be greeted by a number of ladies in their underwear and stockings, after making myself known I was ushered into one of the rooms with one of the lady’s before the boss saw me to carry out an iPhone 5c screen replacement.
The only surface I could work on was the bedside table and to put the pressure on my customer sat on the bed watching on and chatting. Has to be the most memorable repair to date.
What Gives You the Most Job Satisfaction?
When a customer has not backed their iPhone up for months and they think they have lost everything, and I get to see the delight on a customers face when I get it up and running again.
What Do You Like To Do in Your Spare Time?
I’m a keen clay pigeon shooter, I also love Motorsport, photography and I’m a keen baker currently learning fine french patisserie.
